Sumudu Lakshan

Sumudu Lakshan’s mother died when he was just two years old. As a single parent, his father has been looking after and supporting him ever since. But fate dealt the family another cruel blow when his father became paralyzed in his left side and was no longer able to work the paddy field which provided the family with an income.

Against all odds, Sumudu passed the scholarship examination but with an above-average score and, inspired by his dream of helping people like his own father, wants to become a doctor. He also told us that he would love to own a computer.

One of the PEF’s most communicative students – he writes to us regularly with updates on his activities – he’s won the hearts of our team over and over again.

When even owning a computer seems to be an impossible dream – it takes so little to change a life.
